Meet the Founder

Ashish Kekaan

Founder & Lead Developer, Devpalettes

Ashish is a developer and designer who built Devpalettes out of frustration with slow, ad-cluttered, and sign-up-gated color tools. With a background in web development and a passion for accessible design, he created Devpalettes to be the tool he always wished existed — fast, clean, free, and privacy-respecting. He personally reviews every feature request and bug report.

Our Story

Founded by Ashish Kekaan in 2025, Devpalettes started as a passion project to solve a personal frustration with existing color tools. As a developer working on web projects, Ashish noticed that most color generators were either painfully slow, cluttered with intrusive ads, or locked behind sign-up walls that nobody wanted to deal with.

The breaking point came when a simple task — picking a complementary color scheme for a client project — required creating an account on three different websites, each with its own paywall and data-harvesting practices. That experience sparked a question: Why isn't there a fast, clean, free tool that just works?

Devpalettes was built to be that tool. From day one, the focus was on speed and simplicity — open the page, pick your colors, export your palette, and get back to building. No friction, no tracking, no compromises. What started as a side project quickly found an audience. Designers, developers, and creators from around the world began using Devpalettes daily, and their feedback shaped every feature that followed — from our gradient builder to our color blindness simulator.

Today, Devpalettes serves thousands of users daily, helping them create beautiful, accessible, and professional color schemes for their projects. We are constantly improving and adding new features based on community feedback, staying true to our core mission: free, fast, and accessible color tools for everyone. Have a suggestion? We'd love to hear it on our Contact page.

Why Trust Devpalettes?

We understand that trust is earned, not claimed. Here's why over 50,000 designers and developers trust Devpalettes for their color workflow:

  • Open Source & Transparent — Our code is publicly available on GitHub. Anyone can inspect how our tools work, verify our privacy claims, or contribute improvements.
  • Privacy by Design — Your palettes and preferences never leave your browser. We use localStorage, not server-side databases, for your saved work. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy are written in plain language with no legal jargon.
  • WCAG-Aligned Tools — Our color converter and accessibility checkers follow W3C WCAG 2.1 guidelines for contrast ratios, helping you build inclusive designs.
  • Active Maintenance — Bug reports are triaged within 24 hours. Feature requests are reviewed personally by our founder. Check our GitHub issues for proof of active development.
  • Real Contact, Real People — You can reach us directly at contact@devpalettes.com or through our Contact page. Every message is read and responded to by a real person.

Transparency & Sustainability

Devpalettes is free because we believe color tools should be accessible to everyone, regardless of budget. To sustain the platform and cover server costs, we display non-intrusive advertising through Google AdSense. These ads are clearly distinguishable from our content and will never interfere with your workflow.

We will never:

  • Charge for features or create premium tiers
  • Require sign-up or collect personal information to use our tools
  • Sell user data to third parties
  • Use pop-ups, interstitials, or ads that block content

Our commitment to you is simple: free tools, clean experience, full transparency. If you ever feel we've fallen short, please let us know.

What We Stand For

Speed Over Complexity

Every tool loads instantly and gives you results in real-time. No waiting, no loading spinners, no unnecessary steps between you and your color palette.

Privacy by Default

Your palettes and preferences are stored locally in your browser. We don't collect personal data, we don't use tracking cookies for advertising, and we never sell user information. Read our Privacy Policy for full transparency.

Accessibility for All

Color accessibility isn't optional — it's essential. Our Color Blindness Simulator and contrast tools help ensure your designs are inclusive and perceivable by everyone, regardless of visual ability.

Community-Driven Development

Many of our most popular features started as a single email from a user. We maintain an open feedback loop through our Contact page, Twitter, and GitHub. Your voice directly shapes what we build next.

Free, Without Compromise

No freemium models, no "upgrade for more features," no bait-and-switch. Every tool on Devpalettes is fully functional and completely free — today, tomorrow, and always.

Our Development Approach

Devpalettes follows a user-first development philosophy. Every feature begins with a real problem reported by a real user — not a hypothetical use case dreamed up in a boardroom. When someone tells us they need a tool that doesn't exist yet, we listen carefully, evaluate the technical feasibility, and build it with the same quality and care as every other tool on the platform.

Our development process is transparent. Bug reports are triaged within 24 hours. Feature requests are logged and prioritized based on community demand and alignment with our mission. Major updates are announced on Twitter and tracked on our GitHub repository, where anyone can follow along or contribute.

We also believe in building for the long term. Every tool is designed to be fast on any device, accessible to any user, and maintainable by any developer. We don't take shortcuts that compromise quality, and we don't ship features until they're ready. If you want to report a bug or request a feature, reach out through our Contact page or email us at contact@devpalettes.com — Ashish reviews every message personally.
